Dolphin Bakers The Story of Dolphin Bakers — A Timeline of Taste, Tradition & Triumph

Dolphin Bakes ’N’ Ice Creams began in a compact 700 sq. ft., 16-seater outlet on Devraj Urs Road. With a small production unit and a commitment to quality, this humble beginning laid the groundwork for what would eventually become one of Mysuru’s most trusted bakery brands.
Foundations of a Legacy
2001
A surge in festive-season demand pushed us to relocate our production to a larger space. This early milestone reflected the brand’s rising popularity and positioned us for steady, long-term growth.
Scaling to Meet Demand
2002
Our move to the landmark location near Marimallappa College transformed Dolphin into a cultural and social touchpoint for Mysuru’s youth. The space became synonymous with memorable gatherings and still holds nostalgic value for many.
Establishing an Iconic Address
2006
We opened our second outlet in Saraswatipuram, taking an important step toward serving a wider portion of the city. This expansion reinforced Dolphin’s vision of becoming a neighbourhood favourite across Mysuru.
Expanding Our Footprint
2008
In the same year, we launched a food counter at the Infosys Mysore campus, inaugurated by Shri Narayana Murthy. For 15 years—until the pandemic—it served thousands daily, becoming an integral part of the campus dining experience.
A Milestone Partnership with Infosys

We began the annual Fruit Mixing Ceremony for plum cakes, establishing a cherished ritual that celebrates craftsmanship and the festive spirit. This tradition continues to be a highlight of our seasonal calendar.
Introducing a Signature Tradition
2010
Our Annual Cake Show debuted with life-size edible recreations of global landmarks and popular characters. Featuring masterpieces like the Taj Mahal, London Bridge, Charminar, and the Seven Wonders, the show has become a hallmark Dolphin event and a platform to introduce new products each year.

The opening of our Bannimantap outlet introduced an inviting outdoor dining ambience. Today, it stands as our highest-footfall location and continues to serve as a vibrant community hub.

We launched a heritage outlet opposite Mysore Palace, introducing Karnataka’s first-ever double-decker dining concept. This experiential space blends innovation with nostalgia, offering guests a unique viewpoint and atmosphere unlike any other bakery outlet in the region.

We established a 40,000 sq. ft. central production unit equipped with advanced machinery and world-class systems. This major upgrade ensures consistency, efficiency, and unmatched quality across all Dolphin outlets.
A State-of-the-Art Production Facility
2023
In a significant operational milestone, we opened three outlets—Siddhartha Layout, Dattagalli, and Rajkumar Road—on the same day. This achievement showcased the team’s coordination, capability, and commitment to expansion.

In 2025, Dolphin was honoured with the “South India’s Best Bakery of the Year (Non-Metro)” award by the Food Connoisseurs India Convention (FCIC).
